The state tourism bureau’s Illinois Made program celebrates exceptional small businesses, artists, chefs, manufacturers and more. The Land of Lincoln “Makers” initiative works alongside destination marketing organizations like Visit Lake County.
Every crafted item carries a little bit of the place and people that make it. The Illinois Makers program celebrates the small businesses whose uniquely Illinoisan style and creativity set our locally-made goods apart.
It was the artisans, inventors, farmers, and makers who first built the communities of Illinois—and those same folks who continue to shape the culture and make a tangible, positive impact on the local economy. Whether it's a glass and/or maker whose pieces draw shoppers from across the globe or a small distillery whose craft spirits keep whiskey fans happy while sustaining local farmers, local artisans are vital to Illinois's past, present and future.
"IT’S HANDMADE, HOMEMADE, LOCALLY MADE. IT’S ILLINOIS-MADE."
