Lake County Tourism Expo, Gurnee Mills, May 13, 2011

Spend the day with us learning more about Lake County tour group venues.  A special tour planner breakfast is at 9 am. Great Lakes Naval Museum

Great Lakes is celebrating its 100th birthday this year!  The big celebration will surround the July 4th holiday but your group can celebrate anytime this year in their new museum (and it’s free)!

Northern Illinois Quilt Fest

Travel through the six northern counties of Illinois, including Lake County for unique treasures stitched together (pardon the pun) just for this festival.  The Lake County Discovery Museum, Highland Park Historical Society and more will have special exhibits just for your quilting enthusiasts.  Let us help you plan a tour around this summer event!

Civil War High Tech Exhibit and Reenactment

The Lake County Discovery Museum wants you to explore how the American Civil War influenced technology and how technology aided the Union in winning the war.  Learn about Civil War submarines, reconnaissance balloons, ironclad ships, railroads and more. 

Attend Illinois’ largest Civil War reenactment at Civil War Days, held at the Lakewood Forest Preserve.
