After a seven year hiatus, the Great Lakes Naval Station "4th of July Celebration" is once again open to the public. There will be live music, food, refreshments, comedy shows, jugglers, kids' crafts, sports challenges, a carnival and more for the entire family to enjoy. The Navy Band Wind Ensemble will perform in the evening followed by a spectacular fireworks display in front the historic Clock Tower. Admission and parking are free.
The City of Waukegan proudly presents the annual Scoopin' Genesee classic car festival on Friday and Saturday, July 11 - 12 in historic downtown Waukegan. Scoopin' Genesee features a parade of classic cars for vehicles 1980 or older, car & cycle shows and kids fest. Enjoy free music entertainment at night featuring a tribute to Fleetwood Mac by Rumours on Friday and the legendary rock band Starship on Saturday.
The 10th annual Lincolnshire Art Festival features 150 juried artists set up along the grounds of Lincolnshire's Village Green dining and shopping area. The festival will also include live entertainment, food and something for the entire family.
History comes to life at the Lake County Forest Preserves' 17th annual Civil War Days at the Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda. It's the largest Civil War re-enactment in Illinois attracting 5,000 visitors from Illinois and surrounding areas.
The 80th annual Lake County Fair held in Grayslake, IL July 22 - 27 will entertain the entire family. This year's fair features livestock shows, queen pageants, truck and tractor pulls, talent contests, amusement rides and much more. The live entertainment will showcase Ashton Shepherd and Josh Gracin.
